The Canadian Professional DJ Association Inc. (CPDJA) appoints New President and Vice President.

Toronto, Ontario – January 6, 2009 – The Canadian Professional Disc Jockey Association Inc., (CPDJA), is pleased to announce today that Michael Coombs has been appointed President of the CPDJA and Dina Deveau has been appointed Vice-President in addition to retaining her current management responsibilities. The outgoing President Dennis Hampson will continue with the association in an Executive Director role involved with the day to day operations of the association.These new appointments were confirmed at the Board of Management meeting held in Toronto on January 5th, 2009 and are part of the association’s re-organization plan to continue to grow the association and uphold its current status as the leading and largest professional DJ association in Canada.

Michael Coombs has over 17 years experience as a professional DJ. He was the first DJ in Canada to become a Certified Wedding Planner (WPICC) and was the recipient of the 2007 Canadian Wedding DJ of the Year award at the Canadian Wedding Industry Awards. With a variety of wedding, special event, nightclub, and radio DJ experience, he brings a great deal of industry expertise to the CPDJA. In his new role as President, Michael will be responsible for planning, organizing and leading the CPDJA in 2009.

I am glad that Dennis Hampson will continue to devote his boundless energy and enthusiasm to help us succeed and move the Association and the DJ industry forward in 2009 and beyond. I am also glad that Dina Deveau will be CPDJA Vice-President and I look forward to work very closely with Dina for many years to come.”

Dina Deveau has been involved in the DJ, music and entertainment industry for over 25 years. She has been a part of the CPDJA web team that planned and developed the association’s very successful website redesign. She will continue to work with the web team with ongoing updates and changes. Since September, Dina has been acting as interim Vice President and will partner with our new President to lead the CPDJA Management Team to reach their goals in 2009.
