Sharing Is Caring Part 3

January 17, 2019 by Mitch Taylor

Last week we discussed ways to share your story more effectively, and you may have been introduced to DJ/MC Toastmasters online.  Now we’re going to chat further about how you share in your sales process. When sitting down with a prospective client in the meeting or the lengthy phone call do you just dive into your presentation, spouting facts and figures with a fancy powerpoint?  Or are you more conversational in approach? Do you just discuss them or do you discuss you?

The sales meeting and time leading up to it is just like dating.  Think about it. When you’re getting to know someone you want to know his or her story.  If you’re comfortable with them you want to share your story with them. It’s the same here.  Share your passion, your story, your WHY with your client. Yes…prospective clients are googling you BEFORE they get to your meeting and have already probably been to your website and read your online reviews.  They may have been to an event that you have already performed or have a great recommendation from a friend of theirs about you. However they don’t often know what it takes to deliver the outcome they saw at their friends’ event.  They don’t understand EVERYTHING it takes behind the scenes to get to that point and how you will take care of them in the time leading up to the big day. This is where you begin to polish your sales skills and differentiate your value between you and anyone else.

We’ll be back next week with final thoughts on Sharing Is Caring.
