Purpose Part 1

October 27, 2018 by Mitch Taylor

Purpose has a couple of different meanings. Purpose is a reason something exists or is done. Another meaning for purpose is to achieve a desired result, your aim or your goal. For me it goes a little bit deeper than that. Think about your purpose…or another word for purpose and that is calling. What’s your calling? What’s your purpose? Do you yourself have a mission statement? Do you have a purpose statement?

Go deeper. I would encourage you to write out your own purpose statement. How do you do that? Take stock in why you get up every day. That’s one way to create your purpose statement. What motivates you? What do you love more than anything else? These are all great insights into what could be your purpose statement. My purpose statement is to make life better by helping other people. That’s it. It doesn’t matter how I do it. I’ve done it by speaking one on one with someone. I’ve done it by speaking on a stage in Las Vegas to over a thousand people. I’ve done it by helping produce conferences in front of people and I’ve done it by producing a podcast in my office in front of no one. What’s your purpose statement? Have you written it out? What are you doing every day to see that your purpose statement is met for the day? What matters is that you do.

I’ll share with you when this just got real as real can be to me in next week’s article.
