Prestige Series Power Conditioners and Voltage Regulators
At Winter NAMM 2009, Furman will unveil the first products in its new Prestige Series for A/V professionals: the P-1800 PF R Power Conditioner, P-1800 AR Voltage Regulator, and P-1400 AR E Export Voltage Regulator.

A successor to Furman’s popular PF-Pro R, the P-1800 PF R is the only power management module engineered specifically for musicians. The P-1800 PF R utilizes Furman’s exclusive Power Factor and Clear Tone Technologies, allowing instrument amplifiers to consistently sound their best at different venues. The P-1800 PF R is also ideal for in-studio setups that use powered monitors for playback of recorded material.
Furman’s Power Factor Technology reduces AC line impedance by providing a 45-A peak current reservoir. This gives instrument amplifiers and powered speakers the headroom to operate at maximum efficiency and sound consistent from venue to venue without being subjected to current compression caused by line impedance or resistance. Clear Tone Technology adds an additional level of linear filtration for a lower noise floor, allowing the instrument’s tone and character to be expressed without the masking effects of AC line noise. The visceral impact, clarity, and dynamic range of instrument amplifiers are not hindered by the quality of the AC of the venue, resulting in a marked improvement in amplifier performance, especially at venues where power quality is poor. A digital voltmeter with color-coded voltage range indicator monitors the incoming line voltage.

The P-1800 AR succeeds Furman’s AR-15 II Voltage Regulator, providing consistent 120-V output (±5 V) from input voltages ranging from 97 V to 137 V AC. Furman’s True RMS Auto Regulation Technology utilizes an ultra-low noise, microprocessor-controlled eight-tap toroidal autoformer, assuring quiet operation for critical listening and recording applications with minimal leakage of stray magnetic fields. The P-1800 AR ensures maximum connected equipment longevity and performance, particularly for A/V installations that experience voltage fluctuations, or mobile A/V racks which may be subjected to generator power or unstable voltage at different locations. The P-1800 AR features a switchable front panel digital voltmeter/ammeter with color-coded voltage range indicator for comprehensive power monitoring.

The P-1400 AR E provides all of the great technology of the P-1800 AR to overseas markets, offering stable voltage output (selectable between 220V and 240V), IEC outlets, and detachable Shucko power cord.
All Prestige models offer attractive new industrial designs and full feature sets, including a front-panel convenience outlet and USB charger for personal media devices and cell phones. The P-1800 PF and P-1800 AE feature eight rear-panel outlets and “wall-wart” outlet spacing to accommodate bulky transformers. Furman’s Velcro “Secure Straps” wall-wart locking system provides additional support for racks that must travel. The P-1400 AR E features 10 rear-panel IEC outlets. All models include the robust protection and filtration that make Furman the most trusted name in the industry, including Linear Filtering Technology (LiFT) to reduce AC line noise, Series Multi-Stage Protection (SMP) for the highest level of surge protection available, and automatic Extreme Voltage Shutdown (EVS) to protect connected equipment from dangerous extreme over/under voltage conditions.

The P-1800 PF R will be available December 2008, the P-1800 AR will be available January 2009, and the P-1400 AR E will be available March 2009.

Showing for the First Time at Winter NAMM:

The Classic Series

At Winter NAMM 2009, Furman will demonstrate its Classic Series of rugged single-rack-space power management/light modules. Offering a new industrial design and full feature set engineered specifically for the A/V professional, the Classic Series includes three 15-amp models – the PL-8C, PL-PLUS C, and PL-PLUS DMC – along with two 20-amp “Pro” models, the PL-PRO C and PL-PRO DMC.

In addition to Linear Filtering Technology (LiFT) for unequaled audio and video clarity, Series Multi-Stage Protection (SMP) for the highest level of surge protection available, and automatic Extreme Voltage Shutdown (EVS) to protect connected equipment from dangerous overvoltage conditions, all units in the Classic Series feature nine outlets with two rear-panel isolated outlet banks to lower intercomponent noise interference and a “Protection OK” indicator on the front panel to alert users to the operational status of the unit. To accommodate bulky transformers, the power management solutions feature wall-wart spacing. For rack illumination, the units include “Smooth Track” retractable LED rack lights and a rear-panel BNC connector to power any standard gooseneck lamp.

The PL-PLUS C features multi-segmented, colored LED voltmeters to monitor the incoming line voltage, while the PL-PRO DMC offers laboratory-precision-grade digital voltmeters/ammeters to monitor the incoming line voltage and true RMS current, along with a color-coded voltage indicator to monitor voltage levels from a distance or while operating the ammeter. Both 20-amp Pro units feature front-panel chargers for small USB-powered electronics, as well as Furman’s Velcro “Secure Straps” wall-wart locking system to provide additional support for racks that must travel.

For overseas markets, Furman offers the PL-8C E, PL-PLUS C E, and PL-PRO DMC E. All Export models operate at 220 V-240 V, with a total of 11 IEC outlets and detachable Schuko power cords.
The Classic Series and Classic Export Series are available now.
