Don’t Project Your Views Part 2

Dont Project Your Views Taylored Sales Mitch TaylorLast week we talked about how to not project your views and how your ego was stopping you from doing just that.  What’s the one thing that can stop your ego?

The mirror.  By taking a long look in the mirror and say “What could I do in this moment to not get upset?”  This is not a holier than thou thing. I do this and I need to get better at it. This is simply a self awareness check for me as well.

Last night I spent put together a bed for my daughter to get her up and running in her room.  My wife was teasing me about the fact that I’m wrapped around my daughter’s finger. That may be true, but I think we need to make moments to make memories and that’s a memory that will stick out. Last night I dropped everything in the evening, I could have gone to work a little more on my business, I could’ve gone to work on something else, sales or whatever. I dropped everything and moved everything out of her room, got her bed together and we drove to Meijer to pick up some bedding for her as well.  It was good father daughter time spent.

I encourage you…don’t project your views and someone else. Take a look in the mirror. Try to figure out what it is you need to own out of your own issues and why you’re upset or why you may have an issue with something.  Don’t get angry at yourself. Don’t project that anger onto your partner.  Realize what you’re vocalizing at that point is your own issues and your own thoughts…not necessarily someone else’s.
