Are you trying to grow your business? Ensuring you’re working for qualified customers will help to maximize efficiency on your time, talent and efforts, but how do you do that? This does not have to be complicated, just ask your family, friends and customers to send referrals your way. Once you book an event, take the time to thank them. This could be a hand written note with a small gift, keep it simple.
Referrals have always been an option, but you have to ask. Share on social media, remind your audience what you do, your specialty and specifically how they can help you. Let your audience know what events you love to do and where you want to work. This will inspire them to help you because they may have a connection to your request!
When you ask someone for a referral you are also expressing your respect for them as well. People feel good when they can be of assistance and thanking them will seal the deal for future possible gigs.
Referrals are a two-way street and great for business! Make sure that if you can also pay it forward with a referral that you do. This is great for business and you will be starting that professional connection that will be remembered and hopefully reciprocated. Your networking will come in handy for this portion of your program. Set the tone for your professional image by referring business when you can.
