The Leader in Sing-Along Entertainment Releases Its New KOD-800 Player with Expanded Storage Space and Added Features

City of Industry, CA; January 4, 2008 – Acesonic Corporation, a leading manufacturer of karaoke products, announced its release of a revamped version of its best-selling hard drive karaoke system. The new Acesonic KOD-800, will have an internal hard drive which can be upgraded up to 1 terabyte of storage as opposed to the 750GB maximum upgrade that the previous KOD-650 model held. The large storage capacity will allow users to hold over 20,000 songs at an uncompressed 40MB per song within the machine itself, providing an affordable solution for those seeking to eliminate constant and tedious disc-swapping during the course of an event or session.

While hard drive based karaoke systems have been out on the market for some time, the KOD-800 is one of few to provide a way to capture and store information directly from the disc tray into the internal drive without using a computer. With the new KOD-800, users can now upload media at a faster rate than ever before. This new player comes equipped with the capability to upload whole CDs at a time, rather than uploading one song at a time. This feature allows users to quickly and effortlessly customize a song library by importing songs from existing disc collections in a faster and more efficient way. Acesonic’s patented disc-capture technology will also work for other audio CDs and VCDs as well as standard CD+Gs, making the KOD-800 the ultimate on-demand entertainment “jukebox.”

Karaoke enthusiasts will also enjoy the KOD-800’s many other standard features. The multi-format player is compatible with almost every major karaoke format on the market, including CDG, DVD, VCD, CD, MP3, MPEG1, MPEG2, JPEG, CDR/RW and DVD-R/RW. Its playback functions include reserve slots for up to 80 songs at a time, as well as a customizable “my favorite” list for easier accessibility and shorter loading times. The on-screen song selection interface is efficient and exceptionally user-friendly, allowing users to easily search and order songs without the use of song books. In addition to this feature, with the new KOD-800, users can now also sort by artist as well as by song title. The built-in hard drive is removable and now upgradeable to up to 2TB for a single slot with a new SATA hard drive format.

As a special promotional offer for the product launch, Acesonic’s retail partner, Ace Karaoke, will begin selling the KOD-800 online at beginning November 15 2007. The offer will include a 500GB internal drive with 1,920 pre-loaded songs from the Sweet Georgia Brown 66 disc pack collection and the Backstage disc pack collection. Also to be offered are various hard drive upgrade options, as well as the Super Bundle Pack, a total of over 5,000 songs from a variety of song packs (a $1,350 value) for only $599.
