Top 30 Safe songs -launching 2012

January 9, 2012 by Ric Hansen

On to a new exciting year of music.  Plan on it being  yet another year of artists pushing the edge, and stepping over the line when it comes to Safe Songs for schools.  That’s where we’ll help out.   Trying to make sense of what is, and is not acceptable to school administrators.  Expect another year of walking the fine line and working to sort out the good form the bad week after week.  I will be inVegas at Mobile Beat in February.  If anyone is interested in meeting up to talk school dances, school dance music or the challenges of inappropriate dancing at schools we could do a little SDN conclave sometime during the 3 days.  Let me know, I am open to the idea.  richard@schooldancenetwork.com

Here is the first of the year Safe Songs Top 30.

The National DO NOTPlay List additions.  See the complete list at the  School Dance Network

NEW Dev In the Dark The blatant and repeated “ I gotta sex drive to push the start”  Will drive the Principal mad. Better pass.
New Will. I. am T.H.E- (The hardest ever) What’s the first thing that comes to your mind when you see this song?  Yup.  That’s what it is all about.  Nothing much hidden here.
New Ass Back Home Gym Class Heros There is a version of this song with the A** clipped out…but what’s the sense of it…the song’s title includes ASS.  Whether you play it or the kids request and sing it….the A word is prominent.
New The Motto Drake The F bomb jumps out in the first three words of the song, the B word in the second sentence, more F words throughout than I cared to count, a couple of N words and this is Drake rubbish.
