Smart DJ Tips: Spend $6 to Save Time & Money!

October 26, 2016 by Jason Rubio

If you’re in the DJ, lighting, photography business, or even if you’re a wedding officiant, then you know having extra batteries for your wireless microphones, lighting, or even cameras, is essential! We all know the nervous feeling you get when the pastor goes longer than expected, or your toasts and speeches seem to take forever! (I’ve done weddings where the toasts took an hour long). Meanwhile, while they’re going on, you’re sweating, secretly hoping that your microphone battery will make it because you have no idea how many gigs it has been since you last changed it! 🙂 Well, don’t worry, there’s an easy fix for this situation!

Problem: Spending money on batteries for microphones, cameras, lighting, etc., and not knowing when to change the batteries, which could lead to wasting money on more batteries.

Solution: Here’s a cool, cheap product that will save you from that stress, and save you time and money! And by the way, no, I am not being paid by this company to discuss this, I simply love it and want to share my tips with you. Get this $6 battery tester on Amazon. Here’s the link: https://www.amazon.com/Amprobe-BAT-200-Battery-Tester/dp/B005G7SBY4/ref=sr_1_3?s=hi&ie=UTF8&qid=1477423191&sr=1-3&keywords=battery+tester

You can now get more life out of your batteries by simply testing them before your event. No more guessing when it’s time to change the battery, which could cost you more, since you may be throwing out a completely new battery. By the way, you can also buy the rechargeable batteries, which definitely pay for themselves over time. Either way, you still need this battery tester to determine when to charge the batteries! (Of course you could buy the expensive Shure microphones that have the “battery hours left” indicator, but that will cost you much more than $6) 🙂

Also, be sure to order batteries in bulk, from Amazon, or go to your local Sam’s Club or Costco. Buy the large packs of batteries, since you know you’ll need them. This of course saves money, too. So do yourself a favor and buy this battery tester and keep it with your gear. You’ll be glad you did!
