MERIDIAN, MS — The official Danish DJ Championship DM I Mix (DMC Danish DJ Championships) and Battle of the Beats Nordic returns this year to Pumpehuset in Copenhagen, Saturday, Sept. 10, 2016, at 8 p.m. Presented by Peavey Electronics® and Scratch Entertainment, this dual event will feature Denmark’s most talented DJs and producers contending for top honors, including the chance to work with an American rap legend and/or compete on a world stage.
Now in its 31st consecutive year, DM I Mix is a prestigious competition that provides one artist the opportunity to represent Denmark at the DMC World DJ Championships 2016 in London on Saturday, Sept. 24. Former DMC Danish champions DJ Ugerløse and DJ Diverze are two of the five judges who will crown the new champion.
The eight participants in Battle of the Beats Nordic were selected to compete after submitting a minimum of two tracks for consideration. Each producer will be given two 60-second slots to knock out his opponent on fat beats. The winner will be awarded the opportunity to produce a track for American rap artist and producer Masta Ace, a battle judge who will perform a full solo concert that night featuring former DMC World champion DJ Noize (Denmark).
A native of Brooklyn, N.Y., Masta Ace made his recording debut on the Hip Hop posse-cut “The Symphony” in 1988 alongside his fellow Juice Crew members. He is recognized today as a significant contributor to Hip Hop’s golden-age era and is known for selling out concert venues virtually every time he visits Copenhagen.
Peavey is proud to sponsor this evening of house-pumping music and, along with other sponsors, will award prizes to the three best DJs of DM I Mix 2016 and the two best producers of Battle of the Beats Nordic 2016.
