Have you ever noticed that the ideas that make things easier or more convenient for people seem to make the most money? For example, bread was once sold as a whole, and not sliced. One day, someone said, “I’m going to slice this bread and sell it, and people will pay more for it, because it makes it easier.” At the time, no one believed that anyone would be too lazy to slice their own bread, but… well, when was the last time you sliced your own bread?
So if you’re reading this, you’re most likely own your own DJ business, photo booth business, photography business, etc. Though we all love what we do, we also all love to get paid to do what we love! That being said, let’s talk about how to make more money, by simply making things easier for your clients.
Do your best to be as responsive as possible with your clients. For new contacts, be sure to get back to them in 24 hours or less. The faster, the better! I can’t tell you how many times clients have told us how much they appreciate how quickly we respond to them. If you’re in the wedding/private event business like us, don’t forget that this wedding or event is one of the most important events in your clients’ lives! It may be business as usual for us, but it’s not for your clients! We’ve booked numerous events simply because brides were not happy with slow, unresponsive DJ and/or photo booth companies! So answer your calls and emails, as soon as possible!
Do you have forms they need to fill out? Go through and edit them, to make them as brief as possible. Also, create an online form that they can fill out, fast, and at their convenience. Everyone uses mobile devices, so be sure your clients can access your forms from their phone.
Do your best to accept as many forms of payments as possible. Cash, check (optional), credit card, PayPal, and any other form of payment. The more options you have, the better. Put the payment buttons right on your website, if you have one. 99% of our deposits are paid online!
These are just a few examples of how to make things easier for you and your clients! Everyone wants convenience and they’ll be happy to pay extra for it!
