Recently Mobile Beat had a great opportunity to do a little video coverage of the LDI Show that many press members such as Mobile Beat will cover to see the latest in lighting and production hardware. We conducted several interviews near the end of the day of the show and shot footage of the event using the iKlip A/V. We chose to go with a wired microphone and patched it through the A/V’s XLR input and through to the iPhone 6’s input using the mount system.
The iKlip A/V’s ergonomics made it fantastic for usage in this environment and it is now going to be part of my standard packing list for any event that I’m shooting video at. You can check out the video for this embedded below including footage shot exclusively with this new piece of hardware.
Plus I received compliments from several other press members and video crews on how smooth it looked I was shooting all of this from iPhone. The main improvement I would recommend for this unit is the possibility of having the mount adjustable up to the size of an iPad if I wanted to shoot with the larger format device and possibly the adding of a battery pack unit to recharge the smart device. Such an improvement, especially the battery pack would add expense to the unit, and as this is already a very affordably priced piece of A/V hardware, I would be willing to pay a little more for that convenience.
At a retail price of $179.99 it’s available now – find out more information at http://www.ikmultimedia.com/products/iklipav/
