Since the very first issue of Mobile Beat Magazine, he has remained a fixture on the Mobile Top 200 playlists.
Ask any DJ how many times they have played his song, and they will tell you they probably lost count long ago. He’s the most famous Otis ever, he’s Otis-My-Man, …he’s Otis Day– the lead singer from the band Otis Day and the Knights featured in the classic movie Animal House! And with a special performance Tuesday night February 17, Otis Day and the Knights are bringing their Animal House 30th Anniversary Tour to the Mobile Beat Las Vegas 2009 DJ Show and Conference!Released in 1978, “Animal House” became one of the top 50 grossing movies of all time. DeWayne Jessie was part of Universal Studios’ stable of character actors when he was offered the role of Otis Day in the movie. Although it lasted just two scenes, Jesse’s role was among the most memorable and the band’s version of Shout! went on to immortalize Jesse and the band.
The movie hit reality as demand to see the band on the road brought Jesse out to lead one of America’s top party bands every since. Their great party hits from the 1960’s will keep you dancing all night long! So bring your toga and we’ll see you at the Mobile Beat DJ Show and Conference in Las Vegas this February. Look for more information in the November Las Vegas preview issue of Mobile Beat Magazine or check out MobileBeat.Com for the latest show updates!
