It is already a problem that the wedding industry overly focuses on the bride. Cliches, such as Your Special Day and words such as Perfect, permeate advertisements and magazine covers.
Today, there is more information available to the bride than ever. Websites, blogs, and television shows. Many of the TV shows inspire and inform, offering a plethora of creative ideas and interesting perspectives. But what about Bridezillas on We TV?
Recognizing that any wedding show is entertainment, my question is still the same. Does the showcasing of brides-behaving-badly do anything but foster bad behavior? Understanding that much of ‘reality shows’ is not reality, but staged, does the wedding industry need brides-to-be watching a show that gives narcissistic, mean-spirited brides centerstage?

While it’s true that it is entertaining I should hope that no bride acts that way! She was late for her appointment and very rude. The comment “I want people to walk in the room and know I have money” OH MY GOSH! Did she really believe that the world revolved around her? Maybe the groom should re-think this. She could have said, the flowers are lovely could you add some bling to it? The florist would have been more than happy to do that.

After watching the show, I have to say that it actually makes me want to behave more appropriately. Although it is entertaining to watch, I think that all of the Bridezillas look ridiculous! I would hope that someone would kick my a** if I were ever to behave so stupidly.

I think God that in 21 years I have only had to deal with one bridezilla. She threatened to take us to court until her sister informed her that she (the sister) would testify on our behalf.
Most brides are under a great deal of stress trying to plan something they have no experience doing. I understand that and work with them. But the bride in the video was just plain rude. I will not put up with rude. And I don’t expect my people to have to do that either. I thought the florist did a wonderful job of being patient.
Absolutely, these programs are shocking. Who in their right mind would marry someone like that. I run a website on Child Tantrums, these women are no different. In fact I think they could benefit from a Terrible Twos course! In all honesty I suppose its all about TV ratings, advertising and the like. How boring it would be if they were perfect!
