DJ tips in under a minute. I’ve done it in prior videos, I’ve talked about a form I use whenever I meet with clients and then I write out their timeline just to get a better idea as to what my involvement will be, where I’ll make announcements, different songs, different dances and just to actually show clients I’m not one of those DJs that says, five-hour reception, so hour cocktail, hour dinner, three hours dancing. My experience is that that’s just unrealistic.
So this is a timeline from last October. This is what all my timelines look like. Granted, they seem a little quick, 6:10, 6:12, 6:15, the times are really tight. I do this on purpose. I do it, A, to show the client that they need to understand they need to work their own reception, but B, to let the site know that this client has it together and they have expectations that need to be met.
This is an outline, I do this for every client, whether they have a coordinator or not, because I want to know what my involvement is and when things are going to happen. So create a timeline for your clients so you’ve got it put together, in under a minute.
