Strobe lights are powerful fixtures that can enhance any event by adding high-energy effects. They produce bright, quickly pulsating flashes of light and are typically seen in nightclubs and theaters. Read on for three reasons why you should incorporate a strobe light into your mobile setup.
Creating a Mood
Strobe lights emit bright, fast-paced effects that add excitement for guests and generate energy on dance floors. They are highly effective when paired with certain genres of music. Remember, strobe effects are not intended to run for the duration of a gig — use the effect sporadically and keep in mind that less is more.
LEDs vs Xenon Lamps
You now have the option to incorporate strobe lights fitted with LEDs instead of high heat, power consuming xenon lamps. Instead of running a standard strobe light on a 20-amp circuit, LED strobe lights draw a single amp of power and do not have a duty cycle.
In addition to emitting pulsating effects, an LED strobe light includes an “all on” feature and can function as a work light. This feature is beneficial if you are trying to set up or break down for a gig while the main lights are not powered on. For additional effects, some LED strobe lights are divided into multiple, individually controllable sections for eye-catching, pixel-mapping effects.
If your setup consists of moving heads and effect lights, and you’re looking to add a different type of effect to your rig, consider a strobe light. They have evolved into compact, LED-fitted fixtures that operate on minimal power and keep the dance floor energized.
